What We Believe
We believe that God is the Creator of all that exists, and that He Himself has existed eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
(Deut 6:4; Matt 28:19; John 16:7-15; Heb 1:2-3)
We believe that God created us to worship Him and give Him glory.
(Gen 1:26-27; Isaiah 43:7, 21; I Cor. 10:31)
We believe that sin has kept us from knowing God and worshipping Him, and that the penalty for our sin, apart from the saving work of Christ, is eternal death.
(Gen 3:1-24; Rom 3:10-23; 5:12-21; 6:23)
We believe that salvation from sin and death is only found in Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sin, was physically resurrected, and now offers a restored relationship with God to all who believe in Him.
(John 3:16; 14:6; Acts 2:22-39; 4:12; Rom 3:21-24)
We believe that salvation is a free gift given at God’s initiative, and must be received personally by responding to the Gospel in faith and repentance.
(John 5:24; Acts 3:19; Rom 10:9-10; Eph 2:8-9)
We believe the Bible is God’s Word. We believe that is inerrant (without error). We submit to the Word as the ultimate authority in the church, believing that its purpose is to teach us how to have a relationship with God and bring Him glory in our lives.
(Psalms 19:7-10; John 20:31; 2 Tim 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)
We believe that Jesus founded the Church and that He is working through His church for His glory and His fame in all the earth. We believe the church is a family, and that every believer should be identified with a local church for the purpose of mutual encouragement, spiritual growth and accountability.
(Matt 16:18; 1 Cor 12:12-31; Eph 4:11-16; Heb 10:24-25;1 Peter 2:9)
Baptism and Lord’s Supper
We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the two ordinances Christ has given His church. We believe in baptism by immersion as an outward sign of a previous inward transformation by God’s grace (i.e., believer’s baptism). We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a symbolic remembrance of the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.
(Matt 3:13-17; 26:26-29; 28:18-20; Rom 6:1-4; I Cor 11:23-32)
We believe that God loves every person in the world and longs to see them saved. Therefore we believe it is the responsibility of every Christian to model and share the love of Christ. We believe that our basic mission as a church is to “make disciples here and everywhere for the glory of God.” We believe the task of disciple-making begins at home with our own children, and extends to the ends of the earth
(Deut 6:4-9; Matt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; John 13:34-35; 2 Peter 3:9)
We are a Southern Baptist Church and we believe our denomination’s statement of faith, the “Baptist Faith and Message 2000,” accurately describes our understanding of the basic truths of God’s perfect Word. Click here to read the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
