• Welcome

    Glad you are here

First Baptist Melbourne is a caring congregation that welcomes everyone. We want you to discover the joy that we share when we come together to worship God in spirit and in truth. If you are planning to visit on a Sunday morning, here are some hints to help you find your way around and know what to expect.

Please click the little boxes below or scroll to the left or to the right for more information on visiting First Baptist!

  • Visiting?

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

On your first visit, look for our “Visitor Parking” spaces at the west and north sides of the building. If you have small children you may want to park on the east side of the building by our preschool entrance for your convenience. Friendly folks will be ready to greet you at all of our major entrances and escort you to the sanctuary for worship. They can also help you identify a small group Bible study class where you can connect with others, and escort you to that class’ meeting location.

  • Worship

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

Worshiping our Savior together is a core value for us and is a highlight of our week! Our two morning services are identical in style and are led by our Praise Team, Worship Choir and Orchestra. Because we believe God has spoken to us through His Word, we also place great emphasis in our services on faithful Bible preaching.

  • Children

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

First Baptist is a family church and we want to do everything we can to help your children and students connect with God and grow in their faith. We think that happens best when families worship together with their children 1st grade and up. (Don’t worry, we know kids make noise!) While parents attend adult Bible study, we have exciting classes available for children of all ages. Students in 7th-12th grade typically attend the first worship service with their families (9 AM) and meet together in our student center for Bible study during the latter worship hour (10:40 AM). Hosts are available at all the entrances to help you navigate the halls and find these various locations.

Dear Church Family,

On these pages, you will find out about the many ways you can join with First Baptist Church in being on mission, taking the Gospel to the world!  You will find helpful information about opportunities locally, domestically, and internationally to serve the Lord. Of course these pages are not exhaustive, and God may lead you to serve in an area that isn't mentioned.  Maybe God is leading you to start a new ministry, and if so, praise the Lord!

I want to challenge you this year to not sit on the bleachers, content to watch missions happening around you, but instead, to get into the game!  God can use YOU to make a difference!  Maybe He's calling you to GO!  Maybe He's calling you to PRAY or to GIVE and support others who are going out on mission.  There's a role for all of us to play that's in keeping with how God has uniquely gifted us.

May this be our best year yet serving King Jesus on mission!  And let's never forget...at First Baptist Church we exist to "make disciples here, and everywhere, for the glory of God!"

For the Glory of King Jesus,

Pastor Scott.
