• Welcome

    Glad you are here

First Baptist Melbourne is a caring congregation that welcomes everyone. We want you to discover the joy that we share when we come together to worship God in spirit and in truth. If you are planning to visit on a Sunday morning, here are some hints to help you find your way around and know what to expect.

Please click the little boxes below or scroll to the left or to the right for more information on visiting First Baptist!

  • Visiting?

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

On your first visit, look for our “Visitor Parking” spaces at the west and north sides of the building. If you have small children you may want to park on the east side of the building by our preschool entrance for your convenience. Friendly folks will be ready to greet you at all of our major entrances and escort you to the sanctuary for worship. They can also help you identify a small group Bible study class where you can connect with others, and escort you to that class’ meeting location.

  • Worship

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

Worshiping our Savior together is a core value for us and is a highlight of our week! Our two morning services are identical in style and are led by our Praise Team, Worship Choir and Orchestra. Because we believe God has spoken to us through His Word, we also place great emphasis in our services on faithful Bible preaching.

  • Children

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

First Baptist is a family church and we want to do everything we can to help your children and students connect with God and grow in their faith. We think that happens best when families worship together with their children 1st grade and up. (Don’t worry, we know kids make noise!) While parents attend adult Bible study, we have exciting classes available for children of all ages. Students in 7th-12th grade typically attend the first worship service with their families (9 AM) and meet together in our student center for Bible study during the latter worship hour (10:40 AM). Hosts are available at all the entrances to help you navigate the halls and find these various locations.

Young Singles

At FBC we believe God can use single adults in amazing ways to reach the world for Christ! Our Young Adult  Ministry is comprised of young working professionals and college students. We want our ministry to be Christ-exalting and Word-saturated. We want to build authentic community with one another, grow in Christ by studying His Word together, and then be used to reach others here and around the world.

We encourage all of our single adults to follow Christ in the following three areas:

  1. Engage in Worship—Join us as we come together as the body of Christ here at First Baptist every Sunday morning at 10:40 am for our Young Adult Singles: ages 18-25.  Class meets in ED-118/119.   For those young adult singles attending our Bay West Campus, that service starts at 11 AM.
  2. Connect with a Life Group—A Life Group usually consists of eight to twelve people, hanging out for an hour or two each week.  Life Groups are designed to be a safe and comfortable environment to learn more about God, ask questions and meet other people.  It's a place for people to learn, pray, grow and have fun together.  Don't do life alone.  Join a Life Group today!
  3. Serve in Ministry—we encourage all of our single adults to identify their spiritual gifts and to use those gifts by serving in the body of Christ. In addition to ongoing service opportunities in the various ministries of the church, our Young Adult Life Groups partner with local ministries in serving our community.  Our church also offers many different opportunities to serve on a national and international basis every year.
