I was raised in Homestead, Florida, but was not raised in a Christian home. In my senior year of high school, a friend invited me to church where I heard the good news of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. I accepted Him as my Lord and Savior.
I met my precious wife Nancy at college in 1972. We were married in 1973. The Lord has blessed us with 2 terrific children and 2 precious grandchildren.
I am a graduate of the University of Central Florida, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. I received my Graduate of Theology degree from Baptist Bible College. I completed certification requirements for business administration at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and am a certified Fellow Church Business Administrator (FCBA) through the National Association of Church Business Administration and a Certified Church Business Administrator (CCBA) with the Southern Baptist Church Business Administration Association.
I worked for Florida Power and Light Company for 25 years in nuclear energy, primarily in administrative management areas of the company. I enjoy boating, reading, golfing and spending as much time as possible with my family.
I am passionate about First Baptist Church, Melbourne. My personal goal is simple and can be summarized in Matthew 20:28 “Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” I pray that God gives me opportunity after opportunity to serve Him, my church family and our community.
