How can I introduce you to this special people called the First Baptist Church of Melbourne? You would expect me to be biased and prejudiced after having had the privilege of being pastor of this great church for the past twenty years. So I will try NOT to disappoint you! A - Alive, accountable, active, adoring God B - Bible-believing, Baptist, believers C - Christ-honoring, cooperative, children-loving D - Disciples of Jesus, dedicated, doers E - Enthusiastic, encouragers, evangelistic F - Family-oriented, friendly, faithful, fellowship, fun G - God lovers, good, great, gospel-sharing, giving, gifted H - Happy, holy, Holy Spirit filled, honoring God I - Interesting, involved, inviting, inspiring J - Jesus lovers, joyful, just K - Kingdom people, kind L - Lovely, laughing, listening, loving God and people, leaders M - Multicultural, mission-minded, ministry-oriented N - Neat, nurturing O - Open hearts, optimistic, ordinary folks who do extraordinary things P - Prayerful, praising, purposeful, positive, playful Q - Quest-filled, quiet time believers R - Redeemed, rejoicing, reaching out, reasonable S - Saved, secure, Spirit-filled, sanctified, Scripture-led T - Tried and tested, trustworthy, truth-lovers U - Understanding, useful V - Victorious, vivacious W - Witnesses, wonderful, winsome, workers X - eXtra special, eXtraordinary people Y - Youthful, youth-loving, "yes"-to-God-people Z - Zestful! Is this true of every member of our church? Of course not! We have our flaws. I assure you the pastor of the church is flawed! But we are all very conscious of the magnificent grace of God who accepts us the way we are but who loves us too much to leave us that way.
