  • Visiting?

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

On your first visit, look for our “Visitor Parking” spaces at the west and north sides of the building. If you have small children you may want to park on the east side of the building by our preschool entrance for your convenience. Friendly folks will be ready to greet you at all of our major entrances and escort you to the sanctuary for worship. They can also help you identify a small group Bible study class where you can connect with others, and escort you to that class’ meeting location.

  • Worship

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

Worshiping our Savior together is a core value for us and is a highlight of our week! Our three morning services are identical in style and are led by our Praise Team, Worship Choir and Orchestra. Because we believe God has spoken to us through His Word, we also place great emphasis in our services on faithful Bible preaching.

Making Disciples Here & Everywhere for the Glory of God.

First Baptist is a family church and we want to do everything we can to help your children and students connect with God and grow in their faith. We think that happens best when families worship together with their children 1st grade and up. (Don’t worry, we know kids make noise!) While parents attend adult Bible study, we have exciting classes available for children of all ages. Students in 7th-12th grade typically attend the first worship service with their families (9 AM) and meet together in our student center for Bible study during the latter worship hour (10:40 AM). Hosts are available at all the entrances to help you navigate the halls and find these various locations.

Wednesday Night Supper

We invite you to come out and share in a time of fellowship and supper together on Wednesday evenings.  This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know people and grab a quick bite before enjoying the other mid-week activities the church has to offer.

At WNS, we strive to cheerfully, joyfully, and lovingly serve you a wholesome meal.  We want to encourage an atmosphere of fellowship joy, over a delicious hot meal.

Some of the nitty gritty details:

Our Food Service Director is Rebecca Heidenreich.  Becca loves cooking, and she loves wholesome food.  Almost everything that exits the kitchen is from scratch-from the salad dressings, to the sauces, to the frosting on the cakes!

Every week we have a salad bar!  We use as much organic, non-gmo, and/or locally sourced ingredients as possible.  We have 8 homemade dressings: Thousand Island, Ranch, Bleu Cheese, Chipotle Bacon Ranch, Italian, Greek, Chili Lime Vinaigrette, and Balsamic Vinaigrette. Extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar are also available on the salad bar.

We use Carmo coffee as our coffee vender. They supply many of the local cafes and restaurants with fresh roasted coffee, made here in Melbourne!  We get fresh bags in frequently to provide you a good cup of coffee each week!

We use Compassion Tea.  It is a company that sources some really wonderful teas and uses their profits to provide medical supplies/facilities in remote areas of Africa, as well as positively impacting the tea communities they source from.  Our hot tea bar exclusively features their teas!  We have 8 different teas available - several are herbal and non-caffeinated as well.  The hot water spout for the tea is located in the center of the large coffee pot, under a black, cylindrical cover.

We use Frontier Co-Op spices and also many of their flavorings.  They are non-irradiated spices, often imported, fresh, natural, and mostly organic spices.  This actually saves us a lot of money on spices, but we also get a high quality product as well.  They come in bags, instead of plastic containers, and we store them in glass jars - trying to be “green," while still being clean!

We use natural cleaners, like lemon juice and baking soda, whenever possible, instead of more expensive(and more toxic) options.

We also donate our produce scraps to a local urban chicken farmer.  Most of our supper leftovers go to CITA or Seafearer’s ministries - so when you support WNS, you are supporting those ministries too.

Becca’s desserts are made from scratch, from start to finish - even the frosting.  She wants as much real food in your dinner as possible - unbleached (and unbromated and non-gmo) flour in the cakes (same is in the rolls, too), no artificial sugars, no hydrogenated oils, and real vanilla/flavorings.  Becca also avoids using artificial dyes, but every now and again, they are used.

We use stainless steel or cast iron pots and pans - no non-stick, no aluminum.

Our register accepts credit/debit cards, just FYI.  There is a permanent list that you can RSVP for our WNS, just make a note of it on your pink RSVP slip tonight, or give the office a call when you can.  Please be sure to cancel for a week if you made a permanent reservation and cannot make it!

With love,
Becca Heidenreich and Crew
